Hey there, fellow explorers! I’m Elizabeth, and I’m from a little gem in the Mediterranean called Malta. Picture this: warm sunshine most of the year, mouth-watering (and yes,a little oily) food, and a culture that’s as rich as it is welcoming. It’s a place where you’ll meet some of the friendliest people, and the winters? Well, let’s just say they're much kinder compared to other parts of the world. A little about me: I’m a huge travel enthusiast and a nature lover with a special fondness for hiking. I’m also the kind of person who will stop to pet any dog or cat I meet (and probably talk to them too). Friendly? Absolutely. Talkative? Oh, you bet! Music-wise, my tastes are all over the place. I can vibe to anything from golden oldies to Asian-style tunes to classic rock especially bands like Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The doors etc. Professionally, I come from the hospitality world with an extensive background in Tourism Studies and Hospitality Management. I've always enjoyed working with people from different cultures. One of the most rewarding aspects of working in hospitality is the opportunity to connect with guests from all walks of life. It’s not just about offering a warm welcome, but also the chance to immerse yourself in diverse cultures, learning something new with each interaction. And along the way, you sometimes find yourself making lasting friendships, which makes the experience even more enriching. But back in May 2021, I took a leap and swapped the sunny island life for the rugged beauty of County Kerry, in Ireland. And guess what? That’s when the idea for this blog was born. Here, I’ll be sharing my journey through the places I’ve explored and diving into what it’s really like to live abroad—the highs, the lows, and all the emotions that come with it. One thing I’ve always carried with me, wherever I am, is anxiety. I’ve been a worrier for as long as I can remember. Some days, it feels like I’m carrying a weight that won’t go away, and I often find myself wondering if it’s normal to feel this way—especially in such a fast-paced world. The truth is, "normal" is subjective. We all experience life differently, and that’s what makes us unique. Some people find peace in the chaos, while others (like me) get lost in overthinking. Over the years, I’ve developed some strategies to help manage my anxiety. They don’t always work perfectly, but they’ve helped me navigate life’s ups and downs. I wanted this blog to be a place where I can be open about my struggles and share what has worked for me. Maybe my experiences will resonate with others who deal with similar feelings. In my blog, I’ll take you along on my travel adventures, sharing my favorite destinations as well as a few spots you might want to skip. But this blog isn’t just about travel; I’ll also open up about my own experiences with anxiety, sharing helpful tips and coping strategies that have guided me through life’s challenges. This space is a safe haven for discussing the journey of adjusting to new environments and embracing the highs and lows of living abroad. Plus, I’ll be sharing photos from around the globe and insights from my experiences as a travel agent, offering a unique glimpse into the places I visit. I can’t wait to connect with all of you! Let’s share knowledge, learn from each other, and embark on this exciting journey together! ☺️
